Fjordruta is a 150–160 km long‑distance hiking route that starts at Kristiansund Airport and loops around the Vinjefjord toward Halsa, weaving through some of Nordmøre’s most varied landscapes — from coastline and islands to forest ridges and open mountain terrain.
The route is built around a network of 12–13 self‑service DNT cabins, all spaced a day’s walk apart, making it perfect for multi-day treks or shorter sections. The terrain is known for its mix: sea, lakes, rivers, fjord views, and accessible summits — with many stages suitable for families thanks to moderate day lengths and diverse scenery.
Because Fjordruta is often snow‑free early in the year, the hiking season runs long — typically April to October — and several cabins include boats or fishing gear, turning overnights into small outdoor adventures.
Fjordruta is considered one of DNT’s SignaTUR long-distance routes, showcasing the best of Nordmøre: quiet coastlines, gentle ridges, wild inland plateaus, and big fjord views — all linked by a relaxed, well‑maintained hut network that encourages slow, simple days on foot.
